Ok, Here's another question for Obama supporters

During the campaign he said the government shouldn't be "leaving it's citizens to make it on their own" He repeated this phrase with a big smile and great enthusiasm " Make it on your own?" was his chant. His speech on Tuesday has the overall impression of " an era of accountabiltiy".
Aren't these two phrases a stark contrast to each other, which one will he be more truthful about?

  • That is called double talk. Some of the people heard "personal responsiblitiy" and some of them heard "government intervention or help" and still some heard nothing.

  • The more people are allow themselves to become dependent on Government, the less they rely on themselves.

The less they rely on themselves, the more they NEED the government.

The more they NEED the Government, the more likely the odds Democrats will remain in power, because Democrats want Big government to control what you buy, where you buy it. What you listen to, watch, what you drive, and where you work.

I do hope you have some examples to back up this ridiculous statement.

  • He is talking about the government being accountable to the American people. He is talking about the government, which we pay taxes to, helping out the people in times of need, and providing services for everyone. They are not mutually exclusive.

  • Wow- i guess some of you who are anti helping others must have perfect lives and never needed help from the government to lift yourself up from the bootstraps. The people MUST be accountable to the government and the government MUST be accountable to it's people. If you don't know what people I'm talking about I would be GLAD to explain from personal experience in working with some of these people EXACTLY what Obama is talking about.

  • You can receive help but still be held accountable. For example...as a manager I may need help in getting a project done but at the end of the day I am accountable for the progress or lack thereof b/c of how I chose to use the help. Help with the condition of accountability.
