what does leuokocytes mean in a urine test strip?

i have no fever, no painful urination but just have a weird sensation occasionally when urinating so i took an azo uti test strip and the nitrates were negative but the leuokocytes were high. what else can this mean?( i tend to freak out)Is this something serious?

  • You have bacteria in your urine. You still could have a urinary tract infection, without symptoms. You also could just have a contaminated specimen either because you didn't wipe correctly (I assume they have antibacterial wipes in those kits) or you have something else producing infection in that area. Take a mirror and look closely at the area for anything unusual. It could be pus from a pimple even.

  • i havent seen a doctor yet..was kinda hoping i wont have to. I will test again in the morning and try to make it extra clean sample....if it is the same result i willcall the dr.
