What is a clerage (sp?) and hows does it work?

I know it's something that somehow prevents your cervix from opening up... but how does it work? I actually don't know the word but i hope you get it

  • Cerclage. It's basically a stitch that holds the cervix closed when dealing with an incompetent cervix (a cervix that can't hold the weight of a growing baby)

  • Thanks for the correction! A stitch huh... How do they get up there to stitch! Do they take it out at a certain number of weeks?
