  • No they aren't preventable. They happen just a part of life. They do however fade after the baby comes and your body starts to return to normal. It is what the body does when it stretches faster than the collagen and elastin can keep up. The sun does help to fade them.

  • I think they can be prevented if you do not gain a ton of weight....

I've seen a mom get no stretch marks even though her daughter did.
Don't forget! you could have your dad's skin! He could have really good skin!
TrilastinSR will work! It's costly but amazing!
You have to buy it online though.

  • I forgot to add! Eating healthy such as lots of fruits and vegetables and drinking water WILL help also!
You'd be amazed at what food can do if you eat the healthy stuff.

  • I got them just like my mom did even though I used cocoa butter. Mine have really faded a lot though and are not real noticeable anymore.

  • I only gained EIGHT pounds in my entire pregnancy, and my stomach looks like a cat slashed the hell out of me. That's the only place I gained new stretch marks, it sucks.

  • Stretch marks have nothing to do with your genetics.

BUT...what your breasts look like after pregnancy is often connected.

    Stretch marks happen, though.
