  • The law of Moses is a wonderful guideline for us to follow by but it is not what gets us to Heaven, Jesus Christ came and fulfilled the law and he is the only way to Heaven.

Going to church every Sunday is not the way to believe in God, church is where your heart is. It can be at work, at home, at Walmart.

Accepting Christ is the way to God, your heart is the way to accept Christ.

  • Nope Jesus came to free us of the laws we had before the new testament. The only unforgivable sin is denying Christ.

  • Um that is a little scary gemgem. What about nonchristians. They deny Christ now, does that mean they cannot become Christians ever?I thought they only unforgivable sin was blasphemy of the holy spirit.

To the OP:To follow Christ,He came to fulfill the law of sacrifice. The 10 commandments are a good moral code to live by ,believer or not.It is almost impossible to follow them all at all times. We all covet. We all tend to say things about people that may or not be true just because we heard them.I think that is why Jesus pointed out the two most important.

  • Even Satan "truly believes in God"!!!
It's not about following a set of rules, it's about having forgiveness of your sins and a personal relatioship with Christ. ~~ Ask God to reveal Himself to you, and seek out others who can show you scriptures to point you in the right direction.

  • If we love Him, we will keep His commandments. (John 14:15) The Ten Commandments are not the law of Moses, they are the Laws written by the finger of God! Not putting God first, worshipping idols, taking the LORD's name in vain, dishonoring our parents, murdering, committing adultery, stealing, lying, and coveting (lusting) are all still sins! The seventh day Sabbath is still to be kept...notice that it is the only command beginning with "remember". It's a memorial of the Creation and a sign of which God we serve.

  • That aside, keeping the "Perfect Ten" will not get you into Heaven. Accepting the Lord Jesus as one's personal Savior and being obedient to the light we have is the key to making it in.

  • The Devil believes in God so going through the motions, living a good life and believing there is a God won't get anyone into heaven. Many churches are filled with people who are going to hell. A person has to accept Christ into their heart and repent of their sins. They need to be in the word and praying each day to stay close to God. A good Church and following Gods law are there to help us so we can live a life for Christ.

  • Being a good person? R U kidding me? What constitutes you to be a good person? Heavan is not a place for good people.. it's a place for those who believe in the lord and have a relationship with him. They have accepted him in their hearts as their lord and savior and believe everything that he has done for them. I think that my neighbor is a good person but if she wasn't saved then guess what.. she isn't going to heavan

  • mommy4or2, you took the words right out of my mouth. You could be Mother Teresa, but if you haven't accepted Jesus as your personal Savior, you're not going to Heaven.
