Baby carrots turning white one day after purchase????

I keep buying peeled cut baby carrots with the best intentions of yummy healthy snacks but it seems like everytime I buy them the VERY NEXT day they start turning whitish... Are they still okay like that??

  • There must be a hole in the bag. They're just dry, you can rinse them before eating if you want, to make them look better.

  • Are you keeping them sealed in a bag?

  • Yes, they are in the bag they came in still sealed. I will try to maybe rebag them and rinse them. Thanks!!!

  • they just have dry skin :) When they are peeled they loose that protective outer layer ("skin") that keeps them from drying out. Just dunk them in water - There is nothing wrong with them. Bon apetit!

  • i keep them in a bowl of water in the fridge and change the water every day (if they last longer than a day!)

  • As long as they are not fuzzy white you are ok. It is just that they have dried out a bit.
