Are Pampers & huggies diapers really better or just more expensive?

I tried the huggies newborn diapers when my son was first born because I found them dirt cheap at a bargain store but since then all I have used is LUVS. I think they are great and they are a lot cheaper. What do you think?

  • IMO Huggies and Pampers are not worth the money. I have tried almost every brand out there and have found that most store brands work just as well as name brand. I really like Target's brand also like the first poster and Toys R Us 'Especially for Baby' brand works great too. I actually had an issue w/ Huggies where the ink from the baby Mickey & Minnie design was rubbing off on my daughter's clothes. So I definitely won't spend the money anymore for Huggies or Pampers. The only thing I wish diaper manufacturers would work on is being able to contain BM's better, lol. That's a problem I've had with all brands when my daughter was younger- holding in pee was fine, but there was no brand (name brand or store brand) that worked when it came to BM's (she's an exclusively breastfed baby). But thankfully we're past that stage!

  • OMG I used pampers for 9 months.. and my SIL told me to go buy Target brand... Because i was having problems all of a sudden with Pampers. I did AND I LOVE THEM. They are so much better then pampers. THey feel hard and not soft like pampers but they are amazing. i love them I regret not buying them sooner

  • I think you get what you pay for. I always used Huggies Supreme and on the rare occasion when I had to buy a cheaper brand, I was not happy. They always leaked. JMO.

  • we used huggies with my son but thats becuz every time we tried another brand of diaper he got diaper rash. But i can honestly say they are a waste of money lol i dont think they work any better. I dont care for the wal mart brand that comes in a yellow bag they truly suck. My SIL uses kirkland brand from cosco and she says they are great they remind me of huggies but cheaper. Think we are going to try them this time.

  • I think that pampers are WAY BETTER i have two kids and for both of them i've ued pampers i buy them in BIG boxes of 140 diapers for about $40 (I live in Costa Rica i don't know how much they are in NY) but i don't find them expensive, besides they DO lock up a LOT of moisture and best of all no matter how wet they are they don't leak (there's nothing worst than a leaking diaper overnight) so GO PAMPERS ALL THE WAY!!!!

  • I don't like Huggies --- esp for the NB. They always leaked for me. Luvs is just as good as Pampers. I've also used Wal-mart's brand with no leakage problems.... but they just don't seem like they're as comfortable.

I've heard really good things about the Target Brand, too.
