Could someone tell me the difference between whey and Casein formula? Baby was breastfed for the first 3 months and then put on whey dominant formula, can he then be switched to Casein formula is it a big difference?

  • whey and casein are just different types of protein found in milk. im not sure why a dr. would pick one over the other and if there are any benefits to one or the other. call your dr. before you switch him just to make sure.

  • Call your baby's Dr. and ask if it would be okay to switch and what the differences between Whey and Casein. He may advise you to wean the baby off on one and slowly introduce the new formula. I did it by mixing half whey half Casein, then less and so on, just so the baby's tummy wasn't upset and got used to the other one.
