Car seat question
4yrs ago when my son moved from the infant car seat to the toddler carseat, I knew I was going to be having a 2nd child, so I put it in the closet and there it has sat. Now that I am pregnant I am cleaning my 1st borns things up for little brother to use and I see my carseat says not to use after 2012. Do you think it will still be ok to use, or should I just get a new one?

I will probably be bashed for this, but if it hasn't been exposed to excessive heat or cold then the plastic is probably safe. I think those expiration dates are b/c the plastic can break down if left to heat and cold while left in the car for a few years. Good luck.Found an answer to your question?

just used in the car for the yr and half my first used it, then It has been in an upstairs closet ever since. The straps are still good, no discoloration or cracks in the plastic, even the fabric is still good, no bad stains or rips.

The main reason they put expiry dates on carseats is because car seat laws/manufacturing laws change every so often. It's not about the materials.
If it says don't use AFTER 2012, you should be ok until the end of the year.
I would google any possible recalls or safety issues with the carseat just to check up on it, and it nothing has gone wrong, use it until the end of the year and then get the next step up.Found an answer to your question?
