White spots on 19 month old DD's fingernails....

does anyone know what really causes these?

I have 2 on my nails at the moment as well.

She takes liquid vitamins w/ floride in the morning and I take a prenatal vitamin b/c I still nurse 2x a day.

  • Injury to the nail bed. Similar to a bruise would be to the skin. Its normal. nothing to worry about

  • lol my mom always said they were white lie lines. They always showed up when you had told a lie. lol I have two myself. I guess I musta told a couple of white lies, uh er I think I just got another one lol. Sorry couldn't help myself. I don't have any idea what causes them.

  • I've heard that it's calcium deposits. And that it can be caused by a deficiency. Ask her pedi at her next checkup. ;) I have a couple on my nails.... but its from trauma to the nail bed. That can also makes white marks.
