8 months old and spoiled?!?!

my 8 month old loves the attention she gets and sometimes i think she gets a little too much because when u hold her and play with her and all of a sudden someone needs to take care of a phone call u put her on the floor to play with her toys and she throws a bloody tantrum until she gets picked up again i can see this if she were only 5 or 6 months but shes just shy of 9 months any suggestions?

  • My son swings his head back when hes moody. Hes learning that he cant always have 100% attention..but it takes time. Babies dont know how to express themselves other than through showing you like that - they cant say "Hey come back i want your attention" so they do that. She will learn.

    And shes not spoilt.

  • The only way to break this is to encourage more independent time. And when she cries to be picked back up, don't. Just come in the room and make sure she is ok. Then stay within eye shot and make sure your doing something. That way she doesn't think your watching her. Good luck!

  • Better spoiled than neglected!

  • If you need to put her down, then do so. Explain that you need to do XYZ and then you two can play again. If she gets upset, it is ok. I wouldn't encourage the screaming, but it is ok.
