Is it time I gove my 6 month old more than 4 oz per feeding?

He eats 4 ounces every feeding and also eats baby food and cereal daily. I know there is a point where they need more. He just turned 6 months.

  • Woowwww, my 5 month old DD is on 8 ounces of formula and cereal/babyfood at almost every feeding give or take a little. When they start moving up how frequently they eat is when you should move up on how much they get. If hes eating 4 ozs every 2-4 hours then maybe you should switch it to 8 ozs every 4-6 hours hed still be getting the same amount just not as close together which is better for you because then your not tied down as often, and hes get use to not getting as much formula and more baby food. Also if he does get a bottle at every feeding id try making some feedings just baby food maybe a little baby juice instead of formula. This could be good for him too. [=

  • I would try giving 6oz and see how he does. Thats how much my daughter was eating at that age, and now at 8 months she is just starting to sometimes eat more than that.

  • dont give her 2 oz more suddenly. i only increase by half an ounce and try to get them used to it for at least a day of feedings otherwise u will get a bunch of spit up. but yes usually a baby that old will eat more. is he eating really often? once u get him used to eating more, he will eat less often
