How much do you/ did you pay for you child's preschool??

I am looking at prespective preschools for my son, and I cannot believe how expensive it is!

They range from over 400 dollars a month to 175. So I am wondering what most people pay. Please share!!

  • In my area, the range for 3 or 4 year old preschool is from 320-500 a month. Most of these are open from 6:30 am-6 pm with the preschool part being from 8;30 am-12 (the other times are pretty much "daycare"). For Pre-K, it is free from 8-2 as long as it is a state funded pre-k.

  • The ones I mentioned above are only 2 days a week four hours a day, and that is all I am looking for.

  • It's very hard to find "part time" care in my area. There are a few churches that offer Moms morning out programs and if I remember correctly it was $80 a month for once a week drop off for 3 hours and $160 a month for twice a week drop off for 3 hours. For part time daycare/preschool, it is $25-$30 a day.

  • this year's rates for our preschool are $80/month for 3-4 year olds, who attend 2 days a week from 8:30-12, and $120/month for 4-5 year olds who attend 3 days a week from 8:30-3:30 (though some attended 2 days from 8:3-12 and 1 day from 8:3-3:30 the first semester - same price though).

  • Through my school district's ECEAP (Early Childhood Education and Assistance Program) I pay $0.00. We qualified for low-income, so we don't have to pay. My daughter is also on an IEP for speech therapy, also free to us, since it's through the school district.
