What do actual labor contractions feel like?

  • Mine just felt like period cramps. At first they weren't as bad as period cramps. Then they got progressively worse until they felt like period cramps on steriods! ...which is when I got the epidural. =) I was shocked at how unlike the movies the whole process was.

  • for me, it was just a tightening of my stomach. the pressure i felt in my back hurt more than the contractions

  • thry feel like really bad menstraul cramps and your uterus tightems really tight and you feel it in your back its horrible....well at least for me it was

  • MY CONTRACTIONS WERE NOT BAD REALLY BUT I WENT IN MINE WOULD COME AND GO I HAD TO BE INDUCED FOR MINE WOULDN'T STAY CONSISTENT I HAD TO GET INDUCED 4 TIMES NOW LOL I GOT AN EPIDURAL AND I WAS GOOD TO GO

  • When they got really bad it was hard to breathe. I couldn't talk through them that's for damn sure.

  • Mine felt like period cramps but they sort of burned. def. couldn't talk through them.

  • I don't think there is really a good way to describe them, I think they feel different depending on the woman. I never had period cramps, so describing it that way never helped me. When they came, I just knew what was going on, like instinct or something :P
