when did you child get seperation anxiety,

like crying if you leave them with someone, crying if you leave the room, or out of eye sight. my daughter just started this with her grandparents. i was still in the room and holding her and she would still do it, and heaven forbid them try and hold her that made it worse. she sees them all the time its only been a week since she saw them. we always leave her with them no one else, and she has always loved them. they hold her in church when we go, and at dinner, i just dont get it.

anyone please help. how do we get this to stop

  • This is normal and most common between 6-12 months of age. You don't get it to stop, you wait for her to outgrow it. The more you try to push her to be independent or "get over it: the more tightly she will cling to mom. Let it be okay that only Mommy holds her for a little while, and before you know it she'll be reaching out to go to gma and gpa!
