How Can I Advertise & Invite Moms To My New Group

I just opened up a new group on Cafemom. Is it against Cafemom rules to make a post in my groups to come and join my new group? Just want to make sure. Also, how else can I get the word out about my group? Thanks a bunch!

  • Hi TammyG,

There are several ways to promote your group on CafeMom.

If you are a group owner, you can click the 'Promote Your Group' link in the Admin Tools section on your group homepage. Your post there will be added to the 'Groups Seeking Members' forum.

If you are a group owner, admin, or member, you can create a CafeMom signature to promote your group.

You can also create a banner for your CafeMom group to add to another website. Here's how to create a banner:

Click the arrow beside the 'Moms' tab.
Select 'Invite Friends' from the drop-down menu.
On the next page, on the left side, click the 'Personalized CafeMom Widgets' link..
Click the 'Create now' button beneath 'Your CafeMom Groups'.
Select your group; choose the banner size, background, and text.
Scroll down the page and copy the code to paste onto your website.

    Enjoy CafeMom!

  • It's not against cm rules to post in your groups, but it may be against the individual group's rules to do so. each has it's own guidelines.
To promote your group you can:
Write a journal about your group
Add a banner to your profile
    Use your signature
If it's a public group having chats will promote your group
Join the Group Owner's Club lottery

The important thing is to link your group in any of these so that people can click back or find your group

You can leave chatterbox messages for moms that might fit with your group
