I am 8 weeks post-hysterectomy; total abdominal. I am 48 & otherwise healthy. I've been having "Charlie Horse" type spasms through my groin area. They come on fast, hard, without warning & knock me over in pain. Anyone else out there ever experience something similar?

Activity doesn't seem to be the trigger, as they've come on while walking, sitting, standing, lying. The sever pain doesn't last long but a dull ache lingers several minutes after each spasm. Any ideas on what this might be? Just a normal part of healing? OUCH!!

  • I had a complete hysterectomy 12 years ago and yes the pains sound like the ones I had, they go away, but you can ask your dr for muscle relaxers Soma worked for me and a pain killer.

  • Sounds like you might be low on potassium. Might want to talk to Dr. about a good multi-vitamin and maybe a potassium glutamate supplement as well. Or have a few bananas each day and see how you feel.
