What age should kids start CCD? (Catholic)

My oldest son is in Kindergarten. When should I sign him up for CCD?

  • Different parishes offer differen clases. Our parish has Early Childhood Education (ECE) for preschoolers-kindergarden, then CCD (or Religious Education) for 1st graders on up.

  • Talk to the priest and ask them to direct you to the person who runs it. Theyll meet with you and the child and let you know when it is right to start them.

  • Here we start at age 3 with the Catechist of the Good Shepard program. There should be a RE director at your church. Just call the office they'll help you.

  • it depends where you live. I live in Chicago and we start kids in kindergarten.
