  • Can you home school her? It's my opinion that someone should understand basic grammar/spelling rules before they're allowed to home school their child.

  • Leave it to the nasty anons ^^^^

First you should find out what your states homeschool laws are. Your profile says you're in Illinois (me too).  Here is a link to the Illinois homeschool laws.  You can google them and find them on numerous other sites though... http://www.hslda.org/laws/analysis/Illinois.pdf

Illinois is an easy state to homeschool in.  If your child is in school and y ou'd like to withdraw them, you simply have to mail a letter of intent (certified mail and make a copy for yourself).  Here is a link to a sample... http://homepage.bushnell.net/~peanuts/illaws.html#LETTERS

  • Yeah... what ReneeK said.

Also, contacting some local homeschool support groups (or even joining some online) can be EXTREMELY helpful. Yahoo Groups is a good place to look --- there are a few homeschool groups here on Cafemom that are happy to help, too. You can also ask around at your local YMCA, libraries, scout troops, 4-H clubs, martial arts/dance/gymnastics classes, youth sports leagues, & places of worship --- they can usually point you in the direction of other local HSers.

  • Is she having problems at school? Just curious her reason for home schooling. Do you have a good private school in your area? List pro and cons..which is better for her. Check out home schooling groups in your area. IL...Check out Liberty Christian Home School. I will look that info up and PM you. Good Luck on your decision.
