Any ideas why my back is aching?

I was sick to my stomach a couple of days ago and ever since then my lower back has been killing me! I used a cane to get out of bed yesterday and today. Any ideas why this would be happening? I have never experienced this before when I had a stomach bug. I suppose the two could be unrelated and I suppose it could be age!! Thanks for any ideas/thoughts.

  • You could just be achy from being sick. You could be dehydrated. You could've strained a muscle while you were sick. Try an icy hot patch or rub or a heating pad. A soak in the tub & some tylenol if your stomach is up to it. Hope you feel better soon.

  • If you were throwing up a lot, the aching could be from your muscles tensing up.

If you continue to have problems, see a doctor.

  • Don't forget your kidneys can cause low back pain. Could you have a kidney infection?
