the cost of birth control

ok so this might sound stupid, but how much does the depo shot cost to get it? i dont have health insurance so i was just wondering and i would forget to take the pill due to the four kids i have.

  • yeah i paid 60 dollars every 3 month but never worried about taken a pill or if we had condoms i felt free. and dh was happy to. lol. i liked the depo but in nov dh did get the big snip or "major" sugery to him so i dont have to go in this month to get it. but yes i liked it and found it to be worth it.

  • my insurence didnt cover bc ( you think they would ) but i liked the depo so i paid 40.oo for the persciption and then a 20 co pay to see a nurse to get the shot. but its good for 3 months.

  • Depo is becoming less and less common. If you are not looking to have anymore children in the near future I would recommend an IUD. These are covered by most insurances (if not all) last for 5 years and do not have the weight gain side effects like the Depo shot.
