University of Phoenix mom?

I just finished my first year, and my new fincial aid person is getting rude with me and has told me one thing last month and now this month he is telling me something else. I was told that I would be getting my refund money by the end of April and now he is telling me that I am not going to get a refund until next school year classes in July. Why is this he would not explain it to me he just told me I already used my grant money and can not apply for another one until next year. But then I thought thats why he had to refile out the papers last month, if I wasnt able to get it again then why did we have to file out the papers for the grant!? Sorry I am lost and cconfused about this!

  • My sister-in-law and my stbx has both tried taking classes for these people only to be screwed by them. My stbx had canceled his student loan only to find out that the school kept the money. I wouldn't be dealing with them at all.

  • University of Phoenix is known for shady financial aid practices. I know someone who didn't even go to school there and they still reported to the Dept of Education that she did and used her aid.

You apply yearly for financial aid and the school year runs July-August. Call the number and your FAFSA and find out what they are releasing and report what the fin aid officer told you.

  • Yeah I have heard lots of people having trouble with them with their financial aid. It is because they are a for-profit school. They are only in it for the money. They don't care about you. They care about your money.

  • Yeah - there are many many reports of people having problems with them. I'm sorry you already enrolled there, I would stay far away!
