When do you think we can expect Obama to implement a universal healthcare policy? He's already making changes left and right.

  • If we're lucky- he'll decide against it... but who knows what he's going to do.

  • He's not going to decide against it, after all the talking he did about it its going to happen its just a matter of when

Answer by Anonymous at 8:15 PM on Jan. 23, 2009

  • Soon as he's done doing all those bailouts, so, um, never?

  • If he does this can you say FAIL! Some think we were in a world of crap before.....if he pushes through half the stuff he ran on we haven't seen a thing yet.

I have already vented about the abortion and terrorist DUMB MOVES and the wasteful crap in the stimulas

  • This man is a SELL OUT.....and he is going to sell our country out! Bye bye beautiful America...big guberment is moving on in."He isn't Pro abortion" ...."he isn't a soclialist" ...."he isn;t even for the gays"........yeah the evidence to support that is so obvious.

  • Never.

  • Anon 8:15... The country is so in debt right now- how he'll even be able to consider such an option is beyond me. He has a lot on his plate with all the stimulus stuff... even he's stated that it might take a LONG time to get that ball rolling... I don't think he'll be able to make it happen until the country is a bit more stable.

  • Forget about it, he is giving all of the money to the international abortion groups there will be no more money left for Americans.

  • I agree with never. Not gonna happen. Besides, IF he "decides" to implement universal healthcare he's going to have to implement a lot of other changes concerning healthcare first. I think you need to completely overhaul the current system, or in other words tear is down and build it back up. That will take more than 4 or even 8 years to do. You can't just throw universal healthcare into a system that's already completely broken. But he may attempt it in a second term if he gets re-elected. Right now he's going to work on things that are going to make him look good and that are fairly easy to change. No president wants to get involved in policies that will hurt their approval ratings in their first term.

  • He has stated that it will be pushed off, that we simply can not afford it right now. That was a couple weeks ago, I'm sure you can look it up.

There is a bill coming though that will raise the federal tax on cigerettes by $1.00 a pack to help fund more children in the federal coverage for poor children. Of course, that makes me wonder two things:
    (1) Where will the money for these programs come from if people stop smoking?
    (2) Does the federal government really want people to stop smoking?
