Has anyone taken suboxone while breastfeeding?

I have heard it's safe. They give naloxone (one of the ingredients in suboxone) directly to newborns, Buprenorphine (the other ingredient) is excreted in small amounts into breastmilk, far less than a therapeutic dose for an infant. It also isn't a full opiod agonist like heroin, oxycodone or hydrocodone.
Of course the package insert says not to breastfeed... but all drugs say that. Lact-med and the nih are where I got the other info.
Does anyone have any experience with this?

  • If I have a prescription for it, obviously as doctor gave it to me. I told them I was breastfeeding. I did my own research as well. I just wanted to see if anyone else had an experience with this particular drug.
