at 38 weeks is it normal for just mild menstral cramps?

no bleeding and they dont really feel like contractions b/c they will last just like menstral cramps do for like 10-15 mins just wondering if anyone else has these? im not too concerned about it,

  • Sounds like contractions to me. That's how mine felt after I was induced.

  • At 38 weeks they could be either the real thing or something called Braxton Hicks contractions, which are like practice contractions to prepare your body for labor. Just keep an eye on them. Time them every now and then. Congrats!!! Good luck with your new little one!! =]

  • The same muscles that cause menstrual cramps are the same ones that cause contractions. Actually, during your period, those muscles are contracting to shed the lining in your uterus. It is just on a much smaller scale and it doesn't hurt (as much). When those muscles contract for labor, it is on a much larger scale and therefore much more painful. Same muscles though, similar sensations.
