Ok so munchkin has 8 teeth. Four on the top front four on the bottom front. I started brushing her teeth three times a day. Once when we wake up, once after lunch, and once before bedtime. Lately, however, she has started to really fight me when its time to brush her teeth. She clamps her mouth shut and shakes her head no very fast when I ask her to open up. She doesn't mind the toothbrush or the toothpaste because when I let her do it while I brush my own she has no problem. Only issue is she really only sort of brushes her tongue. She completely misses her teeth and gums so I go in after I let her "brush" for awhile and finish up. Question is how exactly do I brush her teeth without this huge fight? I've been holding her still and opening her mouth with my finger like when I break the suction during breastfeeding but not only does this really upset her but she is now starting to bear down on my finger. It may only be her gums but it still hurts. By the time we are done I am frustrated and the poor girl has tears running down her cheeks and snot pouring from her nose. This has been a semi recent development but it is really only our 2nd week brushing teeth every day. I have always had to open her mouth but just the last 4 or 5 days she has been fighting me.
