Do you drink soda?

I drink diet coke at work everyday (1 can) but I don't allow my daughter to drink soda nor do I buy it at home. How about you? Do you drink soda? Do you let your children drink soda?

  • I am actually kicking the habit. I used to joke that I was addicted to Coke--Diet that is. I drank way more than I should have. I know only drink soda once in awhile and I stay away from diet Coke. I usually drink a diet orange or a diet grapefruit or something.

I only occasionally let the kids drink it.

  • We call it pop over here.
Kids do not drink it. We buy caffeine free diet coke but do not drink it everyday. We also like diet Canada Dry Ginger ale.

  • I do drink soda, sometimes more than should be consumed by a human in one day, and sometimes I go long periods without drinking it. My daughter is only 20 months so no, she does not drink soda and I probably won't give her any for as long as possible.

  • If I go out for lunch, I'll order a Diet Coke but I usually drink water.

  • I do... and too much of it at that. My kids do get caffeine free soda when we go out to eat, though they often choose lemonade instead (not really any better though.) At home they might get a few swallows of soda on weekends but it is water after that. My kids really mostly drink water and some milk 'sweet drinks' are for eating out, which isn't often and weekends. And neither of the kids had soda, even a sip, before they were 3.

  • Yes, I am a soda fiend. However, I do not let my 2-1/2 year old son have any. I think he has had maybe 3 or 4 sips total. I would not give it to him as a drink with a meal or snack. I am well aware that I am practicing a horrible double standard but not everything in life is fair.
