Don't know what to do?

One of my best friends told me that she missed her period for 2 months now, and said that she hasn't had any intercorse in thoes 2 months. Also she took a two home pragnancy tests and even had taken a pragnancy test at a doctors office and all three have come back neigative. My question to all you moms out there is.... What else can cause you to miss you period if all your test come out neigative? If anyone can help me on this I would really really appreciate it. Thanks So Much!

  • A lot of things really. Stress, hormone issues, cyst on ovary, dieting, new BC....the list could go on. Hopefully, she will see a doc if she continues to have issues. I wish her the best.

  • I agree with Southern and would also add that weight changes in general - for some people weight loss OR gain can throw off their cycle. Poor nutrition can also cause periods to stop. Depending on how old she is it could be menopause. I would suggest your friend see her OB doctor and have a blood test drawn, if she's definitely not pregnant they may give her something to help encourage her body to have a period. When I was heavier I used to skip periods for months at a time and had to take something for it.

  • My step daughter was never regular until she got pregnant- then her period came. And she didn't test positive for a long time... she didn't know she was pg until 6+ months... she should be SURE she isn't pg before discounting that possibility.

  • id say if not pregnant then she may have ovarian cysts. i had them and didnt get my period for 3 months. ask her if she has pains right where her ovaries are. if she does then tell her to go to the dr and have them do an ultrasound on her to see if she has cysts. they can prevent your period and they can be very painful if they burst even if you dont feel them to begin with.

  • Stress, there is also such thing as a hysterical pregnancy. I would tell her to get a complete exam and go from there
