what does it mean if the placenta...?

Is in the anterior position. (i think)... meaning the placenta implanted in the front of my uterus, which means its directly in front of the baby. Does it mean I wont feel strong kicks (like will they all be soft kicks) because the placenta is like a barrier? Anyone else have this? Just curious. Thanks. Im 17 1/2 wks BTW.

  • might interfere with feeling kicks in the front, other's feeling the baby, and the doctor being able to hear the heartbeat with the doppler.

  • an anterior placenta can make ultrasounds difficult as the pregnancy advances. If your Dr. already diagnosed it then they will likely keep an eye on it. Some complications are slightly more likely.
