How many ounces of formula should a 4 week old drink?

  • 4 to 6?? per feeding? Kinda depends on the baby!! My last one could down a lot but older ones not so much however with all I also breast feed too

  • At that age I hadn't yet started to measure my DD's milk intake. I just fed on demand. But I breastfed. I'd say at 4 weeks, just guessing, 3-4 ounces per feeding, feeding every 2-3 hours.

  • general rule of thumb is 2.5 oz per pound of body weight oer day. This may be made up in 12 small meals or 5 decent sized meals. Eventually your baby should fall into a predictable feeding pattern.
