How long should a one month out breastfeed to ensure he is getting enough.

  • until he doesn't want anymore, or he falls asleep. I never timed breastfeeding. I wentt by how sore my breasts were, & how hungry she was. I don't think they can OD on breastmilk. the more the better.

  • Just feed on demand. If he's hungry he'll cry. Length of time that the baby is latched on does not indicate how much milk he's getting.

  • As long as he wants. I never watched the clock so I have no clue about the exact minutes. Babies are pretty good at knowing how much milk they need.

  • some babies will nurse for 10 mins or less while others could go for an hour. It depends on the child and if they eat quickly or slow. If it seems like your little one isn't nursing too long just make sure he seems happy afterward and he's probably getting enough. If he still seems fussy you might want to try again.
