My job in jeapordy

I have a job that requires me to be on my foot for 10+ hours a day and yesterday they started hurting really really bad to the point that I was feeling sick to my stomach, ya seriously weird right?! Anyways I think I have a foot disorder that's for sure, however I need to get shoes that aren't expensive and will help. I can't afford anything really but I will either be forced to quit this job,or they will let me go because of the pain I'm in. Most of the pain is all in my heal. Some of my team say to buy sketckers and that I can get them at Ross for fairly cheap. Anyone with foot problems please let me know what helps. I know theirs those things you can get at walmart. However they are way over my budget.

  • Go to a clinic or urgent care place. You need to been seen and have a diagnosis before you can begin to have it heal.

My DH has plantar faceitis and is on his feet all day. He switched from New Balance to Avia and it flared. He went back to New Balance and it's much better. A friend also has it and wears Bjorns, but they are pretty expensive, but worth it to manage it.

  • I would go to the doctor and see if they can give you a doctors note for work to stay off your feet or give you more breaks. Have yo just started this job?

  • What about those gel cushions from Dr. Scholl? That should help, but you really need to see a podiatrist. You might have a heel spur that can create more problems if not looked after.

  • If you have foot pain STAY AWAY from sketchers!!!!! They are a fashion sneaker... nothing more!! Stick with a Nike, Adidas, or something like that. Also, make sure you add a GOOD arch support to a GOOD sneaker... this alone will make a HUGE difference. Make sure the sneaker has a stiff sole and a solid heel cup. If a good sneaker with a good supplemental arch support doesn't make a difference then you can't afford to not see a doc!!!

  • Sounds like plantar faciitis if it's all in the heal. Soaking and pressure massages help, but you do need a supportive shoes or at least an insole.
