HOW TO FILE OUR TAXES?

I WORKED ALL LAST YEAR AND SO DID MY FIANCE, WE LIVE TO TOGETHER AND HAVE FOR 3 YEARS HAVE A HOUSE IN BOTH OF OUR NAMES, AND HAVE A SON TOGETHER, BUT WE DONT KNOW WHO SHOULD CLAIM OUR SON. ANY RECOMMENDATIONS. PLEASE HELP!

  • It depends. I'd see how difference it makes on each return then use him on whoever gets the greatest benefit. One of you may be able to file head of household based on him and one may be able to claim as a dependent. Or it may be most beneficial to have one file head of household and claim the child. I can't say for sure without knowing all the facts.
