  • I'm not sure, seeing as how I don't work for the post office, but I do know that they do have to do a full background check including your criminal history, so that may be part of the fee, to help cover costs of that.

I would call back (chances are you will talk to someone else) or call a different office so you KNOW you will talk to someone else, and tell them that you were told you would have to pay, and ask why.

  • I would just go to your main PO and ask for an app or go online.

  • NO DO NOT PAY IT!! Thats not really the post office, its separate company claiming that they will help you pass the test. It does not help you get a job there! Call your local post office and they will inform you when the nest testing session is and its free of charge. You have to go through a lot of tests to get a postal job. Godd luck but those other things are SCAMS!

  • You have to take several multiple choice tests to go on to the next level of the hiring process. After that time you will have a drug test taken, and then they will do a background check. If you wish to deliver the mail you have to take a series of driving tests. None of this costs any money on your part whatsoever. The hiring process only takes place certain times througout the year.

  • i used to work for the post office.

you don' t have to pay to get on. there are different jobs there for starts. you can apply to be a temp at any post office. you can apply at all the diff. ones in your area. to eventually become a regular carrier with benefits, however, you need to go to your main branch (usually the downtown one) and look around for their post board. it's usually in glass. they will tell you the times they are giving out the tests. in the meantime, go online and apply at it's free. they test every 6 months or so. the temp bit (at each post office) is on-call so keep that in mind. i hope this helps. :)

  • First of all don't pay that is not the post office. Secondly, I wouldn't expect to get a job there at the moment.

They are talking about reducing delivery days and are trying to work out how to keep the staff they have without having to do layoffs for the part-timers and casuals.

My husband works for them and he was part time for 3 years before getting a full-time position.
