  • Talk to your parents about this. Sooner than later. Signing a birth certificate means you are accepting lifelong committment to another human being. Id he's 18 and you are under 16 he could get in legal trouble in some states. By signing it he is admitting statutory rape in some states.

  • It is also fraud to allow someone you know isn't the father to sign the birth certificate. Which is a felony offense. Imagine four years down the road, now bf decides he wants out and doesn't want to be responsible for a kid that's not his. So he tells the court that you've known all along that he isn't the dad, and goes to dis-establish paternity. Who's a$$ is going to be over a barrel? Yours.

  • Yeah, that last answer is absolutely correct. He'd get screwed and you would too. Leave the daddy line blank for now and when you grow up a little, maybe someone who is going to stick around for sure can adopt your baby..?

  • That's right...leave the line blank. Someday down the line you'll find a sweetie who wants to be a daddy and husband. That's the MAN who should be on the birth certificate.

  • If he's 18, and got caught in the future. That would be a felony. and he could get in big trouble over it.But it he cares enough to be in the baby's life.I think that is a good thing as long as he is a good person.

  • No i really dont think its a fraud.I mean if they are going to be the father and take the responcibility no i dont think so.I have a cousin who has the guy whos not the actual father on her kids birth certificate.I really dont law can get you for saying someone was the father like that...Atleast its not where i live
