Geez, the things she does just blows my mind.

I posted the other day that my coworker, was considering putting her kids in a daycare that has a law suit pending against the owner for chidl molestation because according to her "she didnt have a choice".
Anyways today she comes in and says she found someone to keep her girls in her home. She said this lady came into where her SIL works and is the mother of a cop who just moved here from Mexico. She said the lady doesnt work and needed a job and that she is good with kids. All that came from her SIL meetint the woman one time. So her SILl gave her the ladys phone number so my coworker called her last night. And over the phone decided that she liked her and wanted her to keep her kids because she was "nice and cheaper than daycare." And that her son is a cop so "the kids should be safe".
I just cant help thinking to myself of course, how freakin stupid can you be. You hire someone who you no nothing about, have never met and only spoke to on the phone. You are basing it on the fact that her son is a cop which tells nothing about her.
Am i just looking at it wrong or is this very strange of parents?

  • Well, I think at this point you're entitled to your opinion but should probably stop worrying about where this coworker puts her kids. It was a little alarming when she wanted to put them in the daycare with the alleged child molestor, but now it seems you're just looking for reasons to bash her.

  • I do agree that your co-worker is being very foolish but try focusing on yourself and your life instead of someone else's. You would stress less.

  • I guess at this point all you can do is sit back and wait for her to complain about the sitter.

Then you can help her out.

  • You're right. Look at all this weirdo's on the news who harm kids, all of them have titles. Taking the cheaper way out is not always the safest.

  • Do you ever really know everything when you hire a babysitter/daycare? Sometimes our gut feeling are all we have to go by. While I wouldn't do it that way just from what you wrote. I can't say that in her shoes, which sounds a little desperate, that I wouldn't have done the same.
