Do you give your toddler mushrooms that are from the market?

my mother of course is one of thoz grandma's that tells you never give your child this or that.the other day i got mushrooms from walmart and wanted to eat them raw cause i love raw 2 year old wanted to try a bite and of course he loved it and wanted another.i told momma what new thing he tryed and omg did she go off saying mushrooms are deadly and i shouldnt give him any i know the wild ones that grow in our front yard are bad but from the store really.what do you think? she freaks out over everything i give him but its ok if she gives him coke or potato chips b4 dinner.

  • Lets use our thinking caps here. They are from the store. It is not in their best interest to kill off their customers. Your son will be fine. In the future, don't put too much stock in advice like that.

  • My child loves mushrooms and is one thing I can actually get her to eat. They are fine- take everything people tell you with a grain of salt and do what you think is best. It sounds like what you think is best is awesome- don't change a thing- trust yourself!

  • Mushrooms from a grocery store are fine. What good would it do a store to sell ones that are known to kill people?

    That being said, a weird thing about mushrooms is that they are much better for you when cooked. Just for the absorption of the nutrients, although there is nothing wrong about eating them raw.

  • Only certain mushrooms are poisonous and they sure as hell don't sell them in the market. You are fine, mine just doesn't like them.
