Hard boiled eggs question

How long do I let these blasted things boil?
I've always gone for 20 minutes. My mom says 5 minutes tops.

  • i put in cold water, once the water is at a rolling boil i put the lid on, turn the burner off, and let it sit on the burner for 10 minutes. rinse under cold water and they are always perfect, yolk is done and no green/gray ring.
