  • There's not a lot of additional information in your question......but I'll try.

    1) Make sure that the daycare is clean, bright, and that you not only check references but that you have a good "gut" feeling about it. What is your child's typical day going to be? Can s/he bring a lovey for nap? Where is their mat for naps?

    2) Make sure YOU don't add to the drama - "Momma's going to miiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiss you" is not the way to do drop off. It is crucial for your child to understand that this is just the way it is - Momma goes to work and s/he goes to school.

  • 3) A little bit of crying in the morning is fine. If you're worried about it, speak with their teacher - how long does the crying continue?

    4) Do regular "reality checks" as to how things are really going (clean, diaper rash, weird behavior) - also have grandma/grandpa stop in at different hours to pick your child up to see how they are during the day.

    5) Relax! It will be fine.

  • How long as it been? May just take time. If your child is absuletly against it, ask for another teacher to take your child in case it's the teacher he/she doesn't like. Usually, it just takes some getting used to. The majority of the time, the child will cry for a few minutes then be fine the rest of the day.
