I was wondering if there are any breastfed babies that do not loose body weight before they are discharged from the hospital. I know I get a longer time in the hospital b/c I have c-sections. But even with that, my milk did not come in until the day I went home last time. I know colostrum has all the nutrients the baby needs. So, why is it such a big deal when babies loose weight at the hospital when they are breastfed?Answer Question

It is normal for all babies to loose weight immediately after birth. However anything more than 1% of their birth weight is a cause for concern.
