  • Yes and yes, but my son is 9. So not sure about the little ones. I've never seen a side effect other than sometimes it makes me tired the next day.

  • if you want, you could try natural food remedies before trying the melatonin in children's doses. there is a list of foods that produce melatonin, but i know bananas, red grapes and warm cow's milk all release melatonin. perhaps a banana or a cup of red grapes and a glass of warm milk before bed might do the trick? worth a shot ;) good luck

  • oops sorry, i was curious how true my response was (cause i heard it long ago on Dr. oz LOL) and i had it a little wrong. those foods don't contain melatonin itself, but tryptophan which later converts to seratonin & melatonin

  • There shouldn't be any side effects. I've never seen any except once my granddaughter was groggy when she woke up because I gave her a dose too late (We were trying everything else to help her sleep before using it)

  • Warm milk works very well for us most of the time. I put a tiny bit of vanilla and nutmeg or cinnamon in it

  • I've taken it yes. I've never given it to my son but many nights I've fantasized about it.
