My husband is active duty e3 in the marines we have a 4 year old and one on his way next month do we qualify for foodstamp in the state of ca? I am not working at the moment as well.

  • You would have to find out yourself. Take out his LES and find the limits for California and then go from there.

  • Check out Family Subsistence Supplemental Allowance. It's a military benefit.

  • For regular food stamps your gross income is used to determine if you are eligible. FSSA (Family Subsistence Supplemental Allowance) is only for service members on active duty receiving full or partial BAS. For FSSA your income is looked at AFTER your housing allowance is deducted.
