To Rinse or not to rinse!

Ok so my hubby and I are at odds..haha. Do you rinse your dishes before you put them in the dishwasher? I do and he says it's not necessary but I swear it is!

i rinse them..and if there is anything especially sticky on them, i will wipe them before the dishwasher.

It depends on the washer, in our last home it wasn't necessary, everything always came off. The one we have now, it's a must

Totally! Our washer seems to do well with my hubby's not rinsed dishes but the thought of bits of food flying around in the dishwasher disgusts me!

I go one step further and actually hand wash them before they hit the dishwasher. I have done the just rinse and put them in and sometimes the kids plastic dishes don't come as clean as I think they should or they have caked on soap in the areas where they were a little greasy.

No. What I've read is that the enzymes in dish detergent NEED a little food to do their job properly, so you should scrape, but not rinse, your dishes.
