This dog smells bad. help

he's adopted from pound. we feed him IAMS. no, i am not buying million dollar food, this is as good as it gets. does he need a bath? does he need to be fumigated? wth is wrong with him. stink dog smell. gross.

  • yes... give him a bath, thats how things get clean. Try using a DOG shampoo with flea control in it

  • It could be that the food is not the right one for him. You don't have to spend a fortune to get a better food then Iams. But I would give him a bath and see if it helps. Does he smell yeasty? If he has a skin infection that can cause an odor and bathing him with regular dog shampoo will not help. If you do not smell a differance once he is dry I would take him to the vet to be checked out.

  • Give him a bath and change foods. Iams has a history of using Soy in their food which can cause gas for several dog breeds.

  • Does he have fold over ears? Could be a ear infection and if you recently adopted him it could just be "shelter" smell and if so he just needs a good bath.
