My son is lactose intolerant and has had issues pooping pretty much since he was born. At first he would go a week or without pooping before I finally figured out a way to help him out. Now I will only let it go a day or 2 before manually stimulating his rectum with the rectal thermometer (the only thing that seems to help him finally poop). He will get so fussy after not pooping for a day and just grunt and grunt but nothing happens until I take his temp. I hate that I have to do it, because I am sure a rectal thermometer is uncomfy, but I am at a loss. Is there something else I can do to hep him? We have him on soy formula, but he is still has the digestive issues, the soy has helped him start eating more though.
Also, when he does finally go, it is really really hard at first but then it turns to VERY watery diarrhea. Is that normal? For it to chance so drastically while in the middle of pooping, in the same diaper? I just feel so bad for him because I know how uncomfortable he is on a regular basis because of all this. Any suggestions would be great.
