3 Bumps

Would this hurt your feelings......

My best friend of 19 years forgot my Birthday yesturday! We have been best buds since we awere 16. Her bday is May 6th and we use to celebrate for like the whole month LOL!!! We would club and go to the beach and just have a ball and call it our birthday month (of course beofre hubbys and kids)! I am a stay at home and she is busy with a new job she has and she has two kids also. I keep saying I know she is busy but it hurts my feelings that she forgot. I guess since it is so close to mine and we have always picked about our birthday celebration month. Am I being too sensitive? She has NEVER forgotten my bday before!

  • I think you're being too sensitive. It wasn't intentional on her part.

That said, totally understandable why your feelings are hurt.

  • I think it is just because we have always and still call it our birthday month! But I am one of these people that has all my friends and close family members bday written in my calendar!

  • I think it's natural to be a bit bummed out but I think there are way worse things a bff could do. She's busy with life, don't hold it against her.

  • I might be bummed a little but wouldn't think much of it. I would just think she's busy. I've forgotten countless birthdays due to being busy. Or remembered but was too busy. Happy Birthday! Btw :)

  • I wouldn't be super bummed, but I hate birthday's so ...

I can, however, see why you would be upset. I think it is ok to feel bummed, but give her the benefit of the doubt. I am sure she didn't mean to hurt you. Sometimes life just gets in the way.

  • I have friends I send cards along with gift cards for their birthdays in the mail a few days before the actual day but if I forget to call that exact day, they get hurt. I don't think you're alone. New job and kids is no excuse for forgetting a good friend's birthday. I've had times were I have been super busy but I always MAKE time for the people I care about. You are NOT too sensitive, your friend doesn't have much manners.
