WHEN can we start with sippy cups ?

  • You can start introducing around 6-7 months (when they can sit unassisted). Just put water in it. They might not get much out of it at first.

  • I agree with mompam. Let the baby manipulate and play with it and he/she will eventually get the hang of it. It takes some time.

  • Why bother with sippy cups? They're really not necessary. You can go straight to a tumbler from the bottle (both of mine did).

  • My first started at 5 months and my now 8 month old isnt interested in it but I let her play around with it.

  • When my children were babies sippy cups weren't around. We went from bottle to cup, and started introducing the cup at around 7-8 months in hopes of getting the bottle away right after the first year.

  • We started with sippy cups at around nine months. Water only; she was set on a great water habit when she gave up breastfeeding at 23 months
