My dd loves her gumbo set, but we rarely use it she prefers our lap leaning against our bellies.

Then I vote for the Bumbo if you're going to be using it closer to six months. She doesn't need anything at 4 months but her Boppy pillow

She's still little! Just make sure she's getting adequate tummy time, she'll start sitting independently when she's ready.

LOL Brawnwyn,, I was going to ask the same thing,, but in general you baby will sit up when they are ready, you could get a boppy pillow to help him stay sitting up, but you need to wait until he CAN sit up on his own.
