Do ex-husbands stop paying alimony if they re-marry?

  • I think it's if their ex-spouse remarries. But I could be wrong and I also think it depends on the state

  • no, they have to continue topay the alimony until the court order states it stops.
    My hubby had to pay alimony for 5 years regardless of whether his ex remarried or not

    if the ex wife remarries- would be included in the court order

  • Nope. We had to continue paying her $$$ after we got married. She's the one who would lose it if she got married. That's why she lives with her boyfriend instead of marrying him (the guy she cheated with when she left my DH 6 years ago).

  • No, alimony is either paid until the receiving marries or for a certain amount of time. The paying spouse remarrying has no impact on alimony
