Help my 5month daughter not be co constipated when I introduce to her baby food. I have her on pablum, and it's made her so constipated. I've tried supositories but I don't like how I have to put it in her bum.. doesn't seem to nice to do to a baby.. Is there any suggestions for me?

  • Apple juice, or a little prune juice should help

  • Try sugar water or karo syrup too. That's what my doctor told me to do.

  • Easy. Stop the food that makes her constipated.

  • You might want to wait until she is 6 months old before starting baby food. They only really need formula or breast milk until they are 6 months old and they don't really need baby food until 7-8 months.

  • And, just curious... what are the symptoms of constipation that you see? It might not even be constipation.

  • Yeah I would try prune juice or just prunes. My dd seemed to poop more after we started her on cereal so I've never had that problem, but I've heard prunes work great! good luck!

  • If they are not hard, dry and pellet like, then it's not true constipation. At this point, I'd do nothing. Every 3 days is normal for some.
